How We Work

Yes, there are 8 steps to getting a website. It takes a lot of work to create an excellent website, but it is absolutely worth the effort!

STEP ONE

We start with an initial consultation to find out what your business needs. We use that information to create a personalized proposal. Our proposals are written out in detail so you know exactly what you are getting and how much it will cost.

STEP TWO

Once you have approved our proposal, we send a contract outlining the work to be completed, an estimated timeline, and cost and payment terms. We offer flexible monthly terms so you don't have to pay for everything upfront.

Once the contract is signed, we begin!

STEP THREE

During our first meeting after the contract is signed, we focus on the look of the website. We ask that you provide us with examples of websites you really like, which can be used for reference. We then mock up two to three design concepts, which are emailed to you to approve or to make comments about. We make changes based on your comments and then finalize the look of the design.

STEP THREE AND A HALF (OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED)

Strong keywords help customers find your website. We can perform keyword research to find out what words your customers are actually using when searching for your products. With this information, we help you choose the best domain names, page titles, and headings, and we make recommendations for your content.

STEP FOUR

Once you have approved the look of the website, we begin the building process. At this time we also assign you your homework. (I did mention that Kendra was a teacher, right?) While we are building your website, it will be your job to finalize the content. We help outline exactly what we need for each page and can connect you with a writer if you don't want to do the writing yourself.

STEP FIVE

Once the main structure of your website is built, we send you a link to check out how the website functions. At this point, we need you to provide all of your content. Then we add the content and images to your site.

STEP SIX

Next, we send you a link to review your website. We discuss the content and images to make sure they flow throughout the website, and that there is enough detail and information for your reader and for Google searches. If we decide additional content is needed, you may be assigned more homework.

STEP SEVEN (OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is performed on the back end of your website. Custom Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions are written and added to each page. We also install Google Analytics, connect your site to Google Web Master tools, and submit a sitemap.

STEP EIGHT

Once your website is complete and live to the world, the final step is training. We spend a few hours training you on how to maintain your website. We teach you how to blog, edit pages, add images, and add products if you have a store. Don't worry—you can do it!

After the one-on-one training, we can provide a recording of the training and/or six months of free access to our online training videos.
